Position: Acting Counselling Team Leader / Therapist – Coquitlam and Maple Ridge.
Nine month, temporary position to cover a maternity leave (March 9, 2012 – December 7, 2012).
Description: This is a challenging, full-time, temporary, position providing clinical and administrative leadership to two teams providing clinical counselling (CCP), sexual abuse intervention (SAIP) and sexual behaviour treatment (SBT) to children, youth and adults as well as direct therapy services to clients. The duties are divided as 28 hours per week for supervisory functions and 7 hours per week as a therapist, split between the two teams located in Coquitlam and Maple Ridge.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Director and in collaboration with the agency Clinical Consultant, the Acting Team Leader/Therapist will be responsible for clinical management of the programs and appropriate supervision of the team therapists as well as intake and discharge management. The Acting Team Leader/Therapist will also be responsible for administrative functions with regard to case and file management and the collection of program service data. Additionally, the Acting Team Leader/Therapist will maintain a small caseload in each program. The Acting Team Leader/Therapist will be a member of the agency management team and may also represent the program or agency at meetings or public events.
Qualifications: Graduate degree in an appropriate discipline and 5 years of clinical experience are required. Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to a collaborative leadership style. Supervisory experience would be an asset.
