ACT II Child and Family Services has a proud tradition of providing specialized services to children, youth, and families since 1980. ACT II continues its service tradition by delivering a range of programs which strive to provide quality services for women, children, and families dealing with issues of domestic violence, child physical and sexual abuse, sexual behaviour problems, and a wide range of challenges which may be assisted through a variety of therapeutic, educational, and consciousness-raising approaches. ACT II remains committed to education, consultation, and prevention, in addition to direct service approaches. ACT II has embraced various strategies and approaches, and continues to integrate the best of these into current programs.
ACT II has continued to maintain a high standard of care to the community that we serve. In February 2006, ACT II received accreditation from the Council on Accreditation following a three year accreditation process and review by a team of peer professionals, effective through 2010. The rigorous accreditation process lets our clients, staff, funders, donors, and communities know that we provide the highest standard of service and are a well-managed and responsible organization.
Over the last 25 years, volunteer board members have been diligently working on the community’s behalf to manage ACT II in a financially prudent manner. COA accreditation represents the assurance of our board that our organization is committed to the highest standards of fiduciary duty as we strive to fulfill our mission to provide our clients with the very best services possible.
ACT II currently receives the majority of its funding from the Ministry of Children and Family Development and the Ministry of Community Services.
